The All Progressives Congress (APC) reaffirmed its support for President Bola Tinubu by passing a vote of confidence in his leadership.
During the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, the President emphasized his commitment to enhancing the nation’s prosperity, assuring that Nigeria’s economy is on a recovery trajectory.
He welcomed the party’s endorsement as a call to intensify his efforts, promising to prioritize food security, investment, and development.
“I am grateful for your vote of confidence, and I accept this challenge to work harder,” he stated. “With Ramadan approaching, I am pleased to see food prices declining. While many parts of the world face challenges, Nigeria is witnessing growth and a gradual return to stability.”
Tinubu also expressed appreciation to Nigerians for their ongoing support for the APC and vowed to collaborate closely with other branches of government to achieve the greater good for the populace.
He recognized the dedication of APC governors and executives and thanked the National Assembly for promptly addressing the budget.
As part of his remarks, he acknowledged the notable contributions of the party’s National Working Committee and called for proactive measures to resolve existing conflicts within various states.
Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the party’s National Chairman, thanked members for their resilience in facing challenges and reassured them that the APC is committed to fulfilling its electoral promises.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio pledged the National Assembly’s support in addressing the country’s economic and developmental problems, while House of Representatives Speaker Tajudeen Abbas commended Tinubu for his brave, albeit difficult, decisions that are crucial for Nigeria’s progress.
The NEC meeting followed a caucus meeting where party leaders praised the President for improving the economy, highlighted by a 3.84 percent GDP growth in the last quarter of 2024 and decreasing inflation rates.
