Atiku Left PDP Because the Party Has Lost Its Voice – Phrank Shuaibu
Phrank Shuaibu, Special Adviser on Communications and Strategy to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has shed light on the reasons behind Atiku’s resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Thursday, Shuaibu stated that Atiku’s exit was not out of fear or surrender, but a principled decision.
He stressed that the PDP has become ineffective and can no longer serve as a strong opposition in Nigeria’s political landscape.
“Atiku is not giving up. He remains committed to the vision of a better Nigeria,” Shuaibu said. “He will not rest until this country is led by responsible and capable leaders. His decision to leave the PDP is based on principle, not fear or capitulation.”
Atiku officially announced his resignation from the PDP on Wednesday, expressing concerns about the direction the party was heading and its diminishing relevance.
This development adds to the ongoing political reshuffle, with several key figures reassessing their positions ahead of the 2027 elections.
