“Deadly Confrontation: Police Take Action Against IPOB/ESN Camp”

A specialized police unit carried out a targeted operation yesterday, storming the camp of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Eastern Security Network (ESN) located in Imufu, within the Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State.

The operation unfolded in a fierce gun battle, tragically resulting in the loss of three members.In an ongoing effort, this raid aligned with the recent directive from Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff.

The Defense Headquarters, echoing the sentiment, issued a stern warning, signifying the impending end of criminal factions within the nation.

According to Daniel Ndukwe (DSP), the spokesperson for the state police command, several other members of the IPOB/ESN managed to evade capture, sustaining varying degrees of injuries in the aftermath of the Imufu operation.

The security agencies pointed fingers at elements within these groups, attributing their involvement in the shooting incident that transpired last month, resulting in the deaths of two security personnel from the Neighbourhood Watch Group in Umuagama, a community within Enugu-Ezike.Ndukwe highlighted that the criminals engaged in a heated exchange of gunfire with the police operatives during the raid.

In the aftermath, three of the lawbreakers were incapacitated, while numerous others escaped with severe gunshot wounds.

The seized items included four Pump Action guns, one locally crafted revolver gun and pistol each, 67 live cartridges, military camouflage uniforms, IPOB insignia fabrics, objects with suspected amuletic properties, and other compelling pieces of evidence.Commending the operatives for the successful execution of the operation, Police Commissioner Ahmed Ammani encouraged them and their peers to maintain their resolute and unwavering stance.

He reasserted the police force’s dedication to eradicating unrepentant criminals from the state’s midst.

The Commissioner of Police (CP) also sought the ongoing assistance of the state’s citizens, while specifically urging the residents of Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area and proprietors of medical facilities to promptly alert the nearest Police Station if they come across individuals displaying gunshot wounds.
