“Enugu State Government Inaugurates New Leadership for Imeama Ugbawka Town Union”

The newly elected leadership of Imeama Amafor Ugbawka Town Union in Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State has been inaugurated.

The Honorable Commissioner of the Enugu State Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development, and Chieftaincy Affairs, led by Deacon Okey, made the inauguration on Friday at the ministry’s office, Enugu State Secretariat, GRA, Enugu.

Speaking during the inauguration, Deacon Okey Ogbodo, who was represented by the Director Town Union Department of the ministry, Mrs Queendaline Odike, urged them to discharge their duties with commitment devoid of bias.

He stated that their emergence as leaders of the community is a call to serve and not to cause mayhem or division in the community.

He urged them to always work within the confines of the law as well as their constitution as that will guarantee a peaceful tenure.

Responding to the Honorable Commissioner, the new President of the Town Union, Chief Sir Osita Ogbu, thanked God for the success of their inauguration.

He stated that their community called them to serve, which is what they will do with utmost respect for all and dedication.

He commended Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for his willingness to deliver the dividends of democracy through disruptive innovations.

Chief Ogbu also thanked Deacon Okey Ogbodo and the entire staff of the Enugu State Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development, and Chieftaincy Affairs for their various inputs in making their election and inauguration a success, assuring that their tenure will put Imeama Amafor Ugbawka back to where it belongs.

Some of the newly inaugurated members of the township union include Chief Sir Osita Ogbu, President General; Engr. Emmanuel Elochukwu, Vice President; Mr. Chima Nwankwo, Secretary General; Chief Friday Edeeze, Financial Secretary; Chief John O. Anih, Treasurer; Hon. Patrick Okoh, P.R.O.; Chief Emmanuel Anih, Provost 1; Chief Onyema Nweze, Provost 2; Hon. Chimaobi Okechukwu, Welfare Officer; Barrister Okechukwu Okoh, Legal Adviser; Hon. Emeka Nnamene, Auditor General.

The town union’s inaugurated Electoral COMMITTEE Members also include Comrade Ogechukwu Nnamene, Chairman; Chief Emeka Nwobodo, Secretary; Chief Felix Okonkwo, Member; Chief John Nwafor, Member; and Chief Matthew Ogbonna, Security Officer.
