Fireboy DML Compares Super Eagles to Ghana’s Black Stars: ‘Ghana is a Better Team Right Now’

In a recent episode of the 90s Baby Show, Nigerian singer Fireboy DML shared his thoughts on the current state of the Super Eagles, Nigeria’s senior national men’s football team.

According to Fireboy, the Ghanaian national team, Black Stars, is currently better than the Super Eagles. While he acknowledges that individual Nigerian players possess exceptional talent, he believes that Ghana’s team cohesion gives them an edge.

Fireboy DML pointed out that the Super Eagles have struggled to combine their individual brilliance to form a solid team.

He specifically mentioned the midfield as an area of concern, citing Thomas Partey as an example of a player who excels in that position. Fireboy noted that Partey’s performance against Real Madrid in a Champions League match was impressive, and that the Super Eagles lack a similar player to battle against top-tier teams.

The upcoming 2025 Unity Cup in London, where Nigeria and Ghana will face off, adds significance to Fireboy’s comments.

His assessment of the two teams will likely spark discussions among football fans and experts alike, with some agreeing with his views and others disagreeing.
