Gospel Singer Sinach Sued for N5 Billion Over Hit Song ‘Way Maker

Popular gospel musician Sinach has been sued by music producer Michael Oluwole, also known as Maye, for alleged copyright infringement over her 2016 hit song ‘Way Maker’.

Maye is seeking a declaration that he is a co-owner of the song and is demanding N5 billion in damages for cumulative infringement of his rights.

The trial, which began at the Federal High Court in Lagos, has been adjourned until January 29 and 30, 2025.

Sinach has denied Maye’s claims, stating that she is the sole author of the song.
