“I took break from music to prepare for new movie role” – Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez, the renowned American singer and actress, has shared insights into her preparation for her role in the upcoming Spanish musical film, “Emilia Pérez”.

In a recent Q&A session at the Telluride Film Festival on September 1, 2024, Gomez revealed that she took a deliberate break from her music career and other pursuits to fully immerse herself in the role.

This dedicated approach allowed her to thoroughly prepare and dive deep into the character.

She said;

“I stopped working on my music and anything else, and solely focused on this [musical]. Every day, I’d wake up and rehearse the lines over and over again. And I’d call in the middle of the night, my Spanish teacher”.
