I was cruel to my ex-girlfriends – Ruger

Renowned Nigerian musician, Michael Adebayo Olayinka, professionally known as Ruger, has revealed the inspiration behind his track ‘Dear Ex’ from his inaugural album, ‘Ru The World.’

According to him, the song was born out of his experiences in tumultuous romantic relationships with his former girlfriends, marked by a sense of self-centeredness.

In a widely circulated video on the internet, the young artist who is 23 years old, expressed remorse for his past behavior towards his former partners, admitting that he was “unfairly harsh” to them despite their significant importance in his life.

Ruger said, “Everything you hear on this album is like everything that has happened to me. There is this particular song called ‘Dear Ex’ on my album, it’s about three relationships I was in at the same time.

“I was so cruel to these beautiful ladies and I didn’t let them go until I wanted them to go. You know, I was just steady go and come back and they were still waiting for me. I felt like I took advantage of it. The three of them were very dear to me.”
