Iyabo Ojo Opens Up About Hesitation Over Baby Shower Due to Social Media Drama
Nollywood actress and filmmaker Iyabo Ojo has revealed that she was initially hesitant about organizing a baby shower for her daughter, Priscilla Ojo, and son-in-law, Tanzanian singer Juma Jux, citing concerns over intense social media scrutiny and online drama.
Speaking candidly at the baby shower event held in Canada, Iyabo explained that the extended celebrations surrounding the couple’s wedding earlier in the year had already attracted significant public attention. She admitted that she wanted to keep the baby shower low-key to avoid further controversy.
“I was like, ‘We’ve done a lot since February, the wedding was long and everywhere.’ I didn’t want to do a baby shower again because of all the social media wahala,” she said. However, Iyabo shared that a beloved family member, Aunty Lola, eventually persuaded her to go ahead with the event. “Aunty Lola is someone I can’t say no to,” she added with a smile.
Despite her reservations, the baby shower turned out to be a cheerful celebration filled with laughter, heartfelt speeches, and warm moments among friends and family. Videos from the gathering have since surfaced online, capturing the lively ambiance and showcasing Iyabo’s deep love for her daughter.
The event has since sparked praise from fans, who commended Iyabo for putting family first and gracefully navigating public life with authenticity.
