Lere Olayinka Defends Wike, Criticizes Ojudu’s Political Past.

Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Adviser on Public Communications and Social Media to Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has responded to former presidential aide Babafemi Ojudu’s recent criticisms of Wike.

Olayinka labeled Wike as a more accomplished politician compared to Ojudu, who he accused of misleading former President Olusegun Obasanjo into orchestrating the removal of a democratically elected governor in Ekiti State.

Ojudu has previously shared details about his involvement in the impeachment of former Ekiti governor Ayodele Fayose, revealing that he collaborated with Obasanjo on the matter.

In response to Ojudu’s remarks about Wike’s grip on power, Olayinka suggested that Ojudu’s feelings of irrelevance stem from his inability to secure a win for his chosen presidential candidate during the 2022 APC primaries.

He questioned Ojudu’s sudden advocacy for fairness in politics, given his historical role in the political upheaval in Ekiti. In a statement, Olayinka expressed: “Femi Ojudu’s frustration is evident, but he should reflect on his ‘I too know’ attitude that led to his miscalculations in the 2023 elections.

Has he returned to farming, cultivating cocoyam and ewedu as he promised?” He concluded by asserting that, unlike Ojudu, Wike has established himself as a more capable and successful political figure.
