Man Shares Frustrating Experience With Friend’s Rude Guest Who Ignored Him Despite Kindness
A Nigerian man, identified on X (formerly Twitter) as @JamesLantern2, has gone viral after narrating a disappointing experience with a guest he hosted at the request of a friend.
James explained that a friend had pleaded with him to temporarily accommodate someone from Port Harcourt who was visiting for a two-week business trip, citing a lack of space in his own home. The arrangement was meant to last one week.
However, the guest ended up staying for nearly a month, and according to James, his behaviour was nothing short of rude and dismissive. Despite receiving full hospitality including a private guest room, Wi-Fi, Netflix access, and laundry services the guest never acknowledged James, spoke to him, or showed any form of gratitude.
James shared that the man never greeted him, not even in the mornings, and would only speak to their mutual friend when he visited. Feeling like a stranger in his own home, James eventually asked his friend to relocate the guest.
He recounted how his friend pleaded with him to reconsider, promising to talk to the guest. However, James said he was no longer willing to tolerate such disrespect and insisted the man continue his stay elsewhere, even if it meant paying for a hotel.
James concluded by calling the visitor “uncultured” and said he couldn’t put up with someone who lacked basic manners, especially as a guest in someone else’s home. His story has since sparked conversations online about hospitality boundaries and social etiquette.
