The Nigerian women’s cricket team secured a thrilling one-wicket victory against Zimbabwe in a World Cup qualifier, showcasing their determination and skill on the international stage. Zimbabwe was ultimately bowled out for a modest total of 77 runs in 19.4 overs.

In response, Nigeria faced a challenging innings, with only two players reaching double digits—Omosigho Eguakun (15) and Peculiar Agboya (13). Despite losing wickets consistently, the team edged closer to Zimbabwe’s total. The match came down to the final ball, where Peace Usen scored a crucial single, sealing the victory for Nigeria at 78/9 after 20 overs.With this win, Nigeria remains atop Group B with two victories, while Zimbabwe and Tanzania each have one win.
