NSCDC reports absence of vandalism in FCT.

Dr. Olusola Odumosu, the Commandant of the NSCDC FCT, has stated that there have been no reports of vandalism of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI) during the ongoing protests in the territory.

Following his inspection of key national assets and infrastructure in Abuja, which included various railway stations and facilities like the INEC Headquarters, Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, and FCT Water Board, Odumosu praised the protesters for their non-interference with railway activities during the protests.

While acknowledging the citizens’ right to engage in peaceful protests, Odumosu emphasized the collective responsibility to safeguard national assets built with shared resources.

He warned against any attempts to damage government properties and installations, highlighting the recent attacks on motorists in Lugbe and the burning of private vehicles in Nyanya as unacceptable incidents.

During his visit to the Idu railway, the FCTA Director of Transport, Engr. Joseph Akinteye, lauded the NSCDC personnel for their dedication to securing the railway stations and preventing vandalism.

This commitment has resulted in the absence of vandalization cases for a considerable period, demonstrating the effective efforts of the corps in protecting critical infrastructure within the FCT.
