Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, one half of the P-Square duo and an award-winning artist, has expressed his strong disapproval of ECOWAS’s decision to deploy its standby force in Niger to restore constitutional order, calling it “absolutely absurd.”

According to source, the President of ECOWAS, Omar Alieu Touray, issued the order while announcing the resolution of the subregional body’s special meeting held on Thursday in Abuja.

In a response posted on his verified Twitter account, Mr P criticized the West African body for aligning with the West in their efforts to combat fellow Africans.
He wrote, “Africa joins the west to fight Africa. Total madness.”
