The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the formation of a 152-member national campaign council for the upcoming Edo governorship elections scheduled for September 16.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, released a statement in Abuja on Wednesday confirming the development. The council will be inaugurated on June 11 and will be led by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa.
Ologunagba emphasized the commitment of the National Working Committee to securing victory for the party in the Edo election.
The council will include other notable members such as Governors Kefas Agbu of Plateau and Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta, who will serve as deputy chairmen. Former President Goodluck Jonathan has also been appointed to the campaign council.
