Popular Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has once again achieved remarkable success with her latest film, “A Tribe Called Judah,” which has amassed an extraordinary N400 million within its first 12 days of release.
This remarkable feat has positioned the new film as the highest-grossing film of 2023.
The Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN), responsible for compiling data on movie screenings in Nigeria, announced this accomplishment on Twitter earlier this week.
Written and produced by Funke Akindele, “A Tribe Called Judah” has the potential to break box office records, having generated an astounding sixty million naira within just two days of its premiere.
Film One Entertainment, a renowned movie theater chain, confirmed the news on Instagram, presenting “A Tribe Called Judah” as the highest-grossing film of 2023. It ranks among the top five highest-grossing Nigerian films of all time, alongside titles such as “Omo Ghetto: The Saga” and “The Wedding Party.”
Other notable films such as “Merry Men 3,” “Orisa,” “Kesari,” “The Kujus Again,” and “Something Like Gold” have been outperformed by “A Tribe Called Judah.”
