Adeyanju Criticizes PDP After Ikenga Ugochinyere’s Expulsion, Questions Party’s Leadership

Activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju has labeled the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a “dead party” in his reaction to the expulsion of House of Representatives member Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere from the party.

Ugochinyere, who represents the Ideato North/Ideato South Federal Constituency of Imo State, was expelled for alleged gross misconduct, insubordination, and anti-party activities, according to a letter from the Ideato LGA chapter of the PDP dated December 5, 2024.

The document was signed by the LGA Chairman, Hon. ThankGod Okeke, and the Secretary, Onyebuchi Umeh.

Adeyanju pointed out the irony of Ugochinyere’s removal from the party while Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), remains a member.

Posting on X, Adeyanju noted, “Ikenga Ugochinyere, the courageous one, has been expelled for anti-party behavior by APC moles who are in charge of PDP, but Wike is still a member of the PDP. The jokes write themselves daily. The PDP is a dead party awaiting funeral rites.”

This expulsion followed a report from the party’s disciplinary committee, which investigated Ugochinyere’s alleged misconduct in accordance with Section 57 (1-4) of the PDP constitution as amended in 2017.
