Alleged Bomb Threat: APC Calls for Investigation into PDP’s Threat.

Published on

Tension is rising in Osun State due to an alleged plot by some Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members to bomb the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters.

A viral voice note claims the All Progressives Congress (APC) might win the 2026 governorship election, prompting the need for violent intervention.

The APC demands an investigation by Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun into the alleged plot to kill scores at INEC headquarters, including top officials and 200 others.

The APC’s Director of Media and Publicity, Kola Olabisi, notes that the PDP member in the audio revealed a similar plan was stopped by Senator Ademola Adeleke and Dr. Deji Adeleke in 2018.

Governor Ademola Adeleke denies involvement, calling the APC’s reaction “irresponsible and defamatory.” His spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, threatens a N5 billion libel suit unless the APC retracts the allegations.

The situation highlights escalating tensions between the APC and PDP ahead of the 2026 elections.

Related stories include the Ondo governorship election, where both parties trade accusations of violence, and the Edo election, where the PDP rejects the results and heads to court.
