An organization claims there were attempts to manipulate the Ondo APC gubernatorial primaries.

The Ondo Vanguard for Good Governance, a faction within the All Progressives Congress (APC), has expressed disapproval over the party’s decision not to hold delegates’ congress ahead of the upcoming governorship primaries.

The group alleges that the committee responsible for verifying party membership in the state is preparing to manipulate the exercise.

They claim that the committee members were absent from the congress venues and that figures were fabricated to give the impression that the delegates’ congress took place.

Tade Ogidan, Chairman of the Ondo Vanguard for Good Governance, has called for urgent intervention from President Bola Tinubu and the national APC leadership to prevent a potential crisis in the state.

Ogidan said:

“The members of the Committee were not only absent at the venues of the Congress across the state; they arbitrarily allocated figures in their hideout.

“The committee members across the state employed two different sets of result sheets, one by the local government Congress Committee and another by the state Congress Committee. The parlous execution of this sensitive and sacrosanct exercise further manifested itself in the refusal to appoint or use designated ward election officers, among others.”
