The Osun State APC has criticized Governor Ademola Adeleke after a newly completed road in Ido-Osun collapsed just a day after it was finished.
APC spokesperson Kola Olabisi said the incident confirmed the party’s warnings about the government’s alleged incompetence, calling the project a symbol of failed leadership and poor execution.
He claimed the road, which was completed on May 14 and damaged by rain on May 15, was built with laterite instead of the proper materials.
Residents protested the poor quality, while the APC demanded an investigation and the disclosure of the contractor’s identity.
In response, Governor Adeleke ordered a full review of the 4.76 km road project and sent officials to inspect the site.
