A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and seasoned public affairs analyst, Yomi Adelowo, has thrown his weight behind the recently elected Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mojisola Meranda.

Speaking to reporters in Ikeja, Lagos State’s capital, Adelowo emphasized Meranda’s extensive political background, which includes her roles as Senior Special Assistant on Intervention and Inter-Governmental Relations in Apapa Local Government, Supervisor for Health in the same local government, Chair of the House Committee on Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA) during the 8th Assembly, Chair of the House Committee on Establishment, Training, Pension and Public Service, Chief Whip of the 9th Assembly, and Deputy Speaker.

He noted these qualifications would empower her to effectively tackle the significant challenges ahead.

Adelowo praised her impressive career, which also includes serving as Personal Assistant to the SSA on Information Technology in the Lagos State Ministry of Science and Technology under Bola Tinubu’s governorship, as well as her roles in the Surveyor-General’s office and as the founder of Worthline International Services Limited.

He called Meranda a natural and experienced politician committed to enacting meaningful change. “Her progressive history, spanning the defunct Alliance for Democracy, Action Congress of Nigeria, and the APC, presents a considerable challenge that she must rise to in maintaining the core values of the APC,” he stated.
