The Court of Appeal in Abuja has disqualified Olusola Ebiseni from serving as the Labour Party candidate for the upcoming governorship election in Ondo State, set for Saturday, November 16, 2024.
The unanimous decision was issued by a three-member panel, led by Justice Adebukola Banjoko, on Wednesday. Justice Banjoko stated that “the appeal marked CA/ABJ/CV/1172/2024 brought by the Labour Party against Chief Olusola Ebiseni and two others is allowed.”
The judge also indicated that the Certified True Copy of the judgment would be made available to the concerned parties for review shortly.
Previously, Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja had ruled in favor of Ebiseni and Ezekiel Awude, confirming them as the Labour Party’s candidates for the upcoming elections, affirming that the second primary election conducted by the party was valid.
However, the appellate court’s ruling has overturned the earlier decision, resulting in Ebiseni’s disqualification.
