Atiku Abubakar, the former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, has accused President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) of desperation to retain power at all costs.
According to Atiku, the APC is using political brigandage and subverting Nigerian democracy to cling to power .
Atiku’s statement was in reaction to the local government crisis in Osun State, which resulted in one death, and the invasion of the Lagos State House of Assembly by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) and the police.
The former Vice President charged Nigerians to stop Tinubu and his government from subverting democracy, emphasizing that the APC has abandoned democratic legitimacy and resorted to brute force to maintain power.
He commended the brave citizens of Osun for standing up to the tyranny and urged security agencies to remain neutral and uphold their duty to protect the democratic process.
