Atiku Accuses Wike of Using Nigerians’ Suffering for Political Gain.

Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President of Nigeria and the Peoples Democratic Party’s 2023 Presidential Candidate, criticized former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, claiming that Wike is prioritizing personal interests over the pressing issues facing Nigerians.

On Saturday, Atiku’s remarks came in response to Wike’s statement earlier that day, where the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory suggested that Atiku had been rejected by the Nigerian people after multiple unsuccessful presidential bids, telling him to “pack and go home.”

In a statement released by his Media Adviser, Paul Ibe, Atiku dismissed Wike’s comments as nonsensical and fueled by personal resentment. He stated that Wike’s focus on local matters in Rivers rather than fulfilling his ministerial duties exemplifies his self-absorption.

Atiku emphasized that while Wike seeks to shift attention through baseless attacks, he and his team remain committed to addressing the real challenges faced by Nigerians.

He acknowledged that Wike seems more concerned with serving his own interests rather than the needs of the public, highlighting Wike’s history of bitterness from losing to Atiku in the 2022 party primaries.

Atiku concluded by stating that they would not stoop to Wike’s level, choosing instead to uphold their dignity while focusing on the welfare and advancement of the Nigerian people.
