Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has downplayed the recent defections of key PDP stakeholders in Delta State to the ruling APC, stating that defections are a normal part of democratic politics.
In a statement, Atiku also responded to critics who faulted his recent visit to former President Muhammadu Buhari in Kaduna, saying that Buhari is a significant statesman in Nigerian politics and that visiting him is not sacrilegious.
Atiku slammed his critics for hypocrisy and selective outrage, pointing out that PDP leaders have been known to form alliances with the ruling party.
