Bauchi PDP Suspends Lawmaker Over Alleged Insubordination

Published on

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi State has suspended Habibu Umar, the lawmaker representing Kirfi Constituency in the State House of Assembly, due to alleged insubordination.

Umar was found guilty of violating sections 58 (9) (1) and (f) of the PDP Constitution (2017 as amended) and has been barred from participating in any party activities until further notice.

The suspension was made official in a letter addressed to the Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, which stated that Umar’s actions were in line with allegations of insubordination reported by his ward in Beni.

A disciplinary committee was set up to investigate the matter, and after a thorough review, the committee recommended Umar’s immediate suspension.

In a separate development, former Bauchi State House of Assembly member Adamu Bello has rejoined the PDP after leaving the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Bello cited the ongoing support of Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed for his people as the primary reason for his decision to return to the PDP.
