Lawyers for Nigerian singer Speed Darlington have written to the police, expressing their readiness to meet his bail conditions, which were imposed by the Federal High Court in Abuja.
This move comes after Justice Liman directed the police to charge Speed Darlington to court within 48 hours or release him unconditionally, following his arrest on November 27, 2023, for allegedly verbally abusing Burna Boy.
Speed Darlington’s counsel, Deji Adeyanju, claims that Burna Boy was responsible for his client’s arrest, which was linked to Speed Darlington’s criticism of Burna Boy’s association with embattled US rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs.
Despite being granted bail, Speed Darlington’s lawyers allege that his continued detention is unlawful, and they are working to secure his release.
