Chapter executives and national delegates are elected by the PDP in Akwa Ibom.

On August 10th, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom State held elections to select members of the state executive committee for a four-year term.

Each of the 31 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the state elected 18 chapter officers, which included a representative for Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWDs).

The party also elected one National Delegate for each LGA, with Governor Pastor Umo Eno among those elected.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the party commended its members for their peaceful and united conduct during the congress.

The governor, in a goodwill message delivered by party elders and stakeholders, urged the newly elected officers to work diligently to ensure the continued electoral success of the PDP in the state.

Elder Aniekan Akpan, the chairman of the party in Akwa Ibom, reminded stakeholders and returning officers of the need to elect officers who are willing to make the necessary sacrifices of leadership to attract more supporters to the PDP in the state.

He said,

“In this state, our party, the PDP is privileged to stay as the most loved, and preferred political party for Akwa Ibom people.
