Chief Aloysius Ogbonna Commends Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, Calls for Siting of Type 2 Hospital in Ogugu

The Ìgwè Elect of Ogugu Ntu-egbenese Ancient Kingdom, Chief Aloysius Chidozie Ogbonna, has applauded Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah of Enugu State for his recent townhall meeting with the citizens. Chief Aloysius Ogbonna expressed his commendation in a statement sent to newsmen in Enugu on Sunday, emphasizing the need for a type 2 hospital in Ogugu Ntu-egbenese.

He emphasized the significance of periodic engagements with citizens as a hallmark of democracy, a principle Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah has effectively demonstrated. The townhall meeting provided a platform for Enugu people, including Ogugu Ntu-egbenese residents, to express themselves and interact with the government.

Among the notable achievements highlighted during the meeting were Governor Mbah’s decision to extend the 35,000 naira wage award for civil servants indefinitely and plans to clear pension backlogs. The Governor also revealed plans to domesticate the National Disability Act and establish a commission for Persons Living with Disabilities, showcasing a commitment to inclusivity and social welfare.

Furthermore, the construction of smart schools in progress across Enugu State, with plans for full operationalization by 2025, reflects Governor Mbah’s dedication to providing quality education equipped with digital resources for Enugu state children.

In the health sector, the ongoing construction of type 2 primary health care centers in every ward, including major markets, with 30 centers already awarded, indicates a focus on improving healthcare access and infrastructure.

“I wish to appreciate our Governor, Barrister Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for once more demonstrating his readiness and capacity to lead.”

“Since the start of his administration, it has shown disruptive innovations and effective good governance delivery.”

“The townhall meeting which he organized yesterday provided opportunities for all the citizens to engage with his administration and be well informed about its activities, programs, and policies.”

“We are happy to be part of it as Ogugu Ntu-egbenese also gave their views, and likewise, other communities did the same.”

“Periodic townhall meetings are one of the hallmarks of a democratic government that is practiced across the world, and Governor Peter Mbah doing so twice in 10 months shows that he is a people-oriented leader who wants the best for his people.”

Chief Aloysius Ogbonna also urged Governor Mbah to consider the establishment of a type 2 hospital in Ogugu Ntu-egbenese as part of his health reformation initiatives. He emphasized the high need for such a facility in the community.

“I beseech His Excellency to include the Ogugu Ntu-egbenese community, which is in the Ogugu/Amoli/Owelli/Ugbo ward, in his programs, especially in the health and education sectors.”

“We are ever ready to partner and support projects that would be sited in our community.”

“The type 2 hospital is highly needed in Ogugu as we lack any functional and equipped health centre in our community unlike others, who at least can boost of hospitals and functional health centres.”

However, the townhall meeting demonstrated Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s commitment to inclusive governance and active engagement with the Enugu community, including the valuable input from Ogugu Ntu-egbenese residents.
