Colombian singer Shakira has been hospitalized in Peru due to a stomach issue, forcing her to cancel her Sunday concert in Lima.
Shakira took to social media to announce the cancellation, stating that she visited the emergency room on Saturday night due to an abdominal issue and is currently hospitalized.
Despite her condition, Shakira expressed hope for a speedy recovery, stating that she hopes to be released from the hospital soon to perform her scheduled show. The singer arrived in Lima on Saturday, marking her first performance in the country in over a decade.
Shakira is known for her hit songs, including “La Tortura” and “Hips Don’t Lie,” and has been credited as a pioneer for Latin artists crossing over into the English-speaking market. Her next concert in Lima is scheduled for Monday, following the kickoff of her tour in Brazil last week.
