Conflict Arises Between PDP and Oshiomhole Regarding Federal Government and Dangote’s Rice Donations to Edo State Government.

The Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, expressed a different viewpoint from former governor Adams Oshiomhole regarding the purported donation of 30,000 bags of rice from the Dangote Foundation to the state.

During an appearance on a television program, Oshiomhole, who now serves as a senator representing Edo North senatorial district in the National Assembly, claimed that the Dangote Foundation had given the state about 30,000 bags of rice as part of its corporate social responsibility efforts to alleviate hunger in the region.

Oshiomhole mentioned that the Federal Ministry of Agriculture had dispatched 20 trucks loaded with rice to Edo State. However, he criticized the state government for allegedly repackaging and branding the rice bags with the Edo State Government logo.
