Nigerian musician Daddy Showkey has criticized Niger State Governor Umar Bago for ordering security operatives to arrest individuals with dreadlocks.
Showkey, known for his signature dreadlocks, questioned the logic behind the ban, asking if dreadlocks were the cause of insecurity.
He challenged the governor to cut off his own beard before cutting people’s hair, saying “make you cut your beer beer.”
Showkey also announced plans to cancel his scheduled trip to Niger State following the directive.
