Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has reflected on his journey to success after hitting a major personal milestone—reaching 11 million monthly listeners on Spotify, a first in his career.
The achievement follows the release of his fifth studio album, 5ive. In a post on his X account, the singer emphasized that his rise in the music industry was self-driven, without the backing of powerful industry figures often referred to as “godfathers.”
He credited his success to God, the quality of his music, and the steadfast support of his fans.
Davido wrote, “No co-sign, built from the ground up! Just God, good music and the best fans! Appreciate you guys fr [for real]!”
