Dino Melaye in the Hot Seat within PDP for Allegations against Damagum and Party Officials.

Dino Melaye, who has raised concerns about the “monetization and privatization” within the party leadership, now finds himself embroiled in a growing controversy.

A faction within the party, known as the PDP Frontliners, has expressed strong disapproval of Melaye’s accusations. In a statement issued by their president, Alhaji Hussein Mohammed, secretary Moses Abidemi, and publicity secretary Dan Okafor, the group criticized Melaye’s comments, labeling them as unfounded and disrespectful.

According to the statement, the PDP is currently facing unusual circumstances. The group lamented that their gubernatorial candidate in Kogi had failed to muster significant political support despite substantial resources. Yet, he now appears bold enough to fault the very party officials who helped secure his candidacy and encouraged others to step aside in his favor.

The PDP Frontliners further claimed that there are individuals, both from within and outside the party, looking to capitalize on the PDP’s current struggles for their personal benefit. They stated that various opportunists are hovering around like vultures, hoping to profit from the PDP’s vulnerabilities.

The group asserted their determination to resist such machinations and protect the party’s reputation and principles.

They were particularly angered by Melaye’s criticisms of the party’s interim National Chairman, Umar Iliya Damagum, National Secretary Senator Samuel Anyanwu, and National Organizing Secretary Umar Bature.
