The Chairman of Enugu North Local Government Area, Dr. Ibenaku Onoh, has reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) to drive the progress of Enugu North LGA. Dr. Onoh made this pledge on Thursday during a meeting with local government workers, emphasizing his readiness to partner with NULGE members in advancing the council’s development agenda.

He assured the workers that his administration, along with his appointees, would collaborate with NULGE to ensure the successful implementation of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s initiatives across all wards and urban communities in the local government area. Dr. Onoh highlighted his intention to bring the governor’s vision to life through practical actions, especially under the “Tomorrow is Here” philosophy.

He explained that the “Tomorrow is Here” mantra reflects the urgency with which the current administration seeks to deliver the dividends of democracy. According to Dr. Onoh, “The developments that many would have expected to see in Enugu in 5, 10, or even 20 years are now becoming a reality in Enugu today. This includes world-class smart schools in Enugu’s 260 wards, the newly installed CCTV security system with a state-of-the-art command and control center, ultra-modern bus terminals, the world-class International Conference Centre, and new hotels and hospital among others.”

He added, “When someone asks you what ‘Tomorrow is Here’ means, tell them it signifies the urgency in the Governor’s drive to develop the state, our administration’s to develop our local government, and the determination to avoid procrastination in delivering meaningful progress for our people.”

Dr. Onoh also expressed satisfaction with the strong turnout of workers at the meeting and assured them that their welfare will also be a priority in his administration.

In response, the NULGE Chairman of the council, Mr. Vincent Eneje, pledged the full support of the local government workers to Dr. Onoh’s administration.

The National President of NULGE, Comrade Lambert Onuigbo, also addressed the gathering, encouraging workers to remain proactive. He praised Dr. Onoh’s commitment, noting that his consistent early arrival at the office by 7.45 daily as observed in the past two days, is a clear demonstration of his dedication. Comrade Onuigbo urged department heads to ensure that workers follow the chairman’s lead in maintaining discipline provocativeness and punctuality at all times.
