Ebuka Okoh Triumphs as New Chairman in Historic NYCN Enugu State Election Unity Elective Congress

Comrade Chukwuebuka Bartholomew Okoh has emerged as the new chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria Enugu State chapter. The council conducted elections starting on Friday, November 17, 2023, at the Gymnasium Hall, Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.

The event witnessed the participation of representatives from various security agencies and ministries of youths and sports development at both federal and state levels. Notable attendees included Ogechukwu Nnamene, the Chairman of the electoral committee; Supol Igwe Kyrian, representing the police; Obinna Ozor, representing DSS; Mrs. Ezekwe Chidinma, representing the State Ministry of Youths and Development; and Mrs. Ezeh Chineyre, representing the Federal Ministry of Youths and Sports Development.

Comrade Uvie Moses Odege, the NYCN returning officer, declared Comr Chukwuebuka Bartholomew Okoh the winner with an impressive 153 votes, elected unopposed after satisfying all legal requirements.

Addressing the media, the President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Ambassador Sukobo Seraibe Sukubo, expressed satisfaction with the election’s conduct and reiterated his commitment to leading the council in the best interest of Nigerian youths.

In a heartfelt address, the immediate past chairman, Comrade Atigwe Henry, thanked God for the successful election, declaring the resolution of crises that had plagued the Enugu state council.

“I am happy to have a moment like today. We are one, and I wish my successor, Comrade Ebuka Okoh, and his executives the best,” stated Comrade Atigwe Henry.

The newly elected leadership, having fulfilled all legal requirements, was sworn in on Monday, November 20, 2023, by the Council’s National Secretary, Barr Suleman Abutu.

Chairman Ebuka Okoh, in his welcome address, expressed gratitude for his emergence, appreciating the commitment of National President Ambassador Sukobo Seraibe Sukubo and the past and present leaders of the council. He assured that his administration would introduce innovations to enhance youth development and integration in Enugu state.
