In a significant move for the state, Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has officially enacted the 2025 Appropriation Bill, amounting to N675 billion. Dubbed the ‘Budget of Renewed Hope for A Rising Edo’, this budget was approved by the Edo State House of Assembly.
During the signing ceremony at the Government House in Benin City, Okpebholo emphasized that the budget aims to invigorate Edo State’s economy and fulfill democratic promises to the citizens.
With a total allocation of 675,220,058,858.52 naira, the governor expressed optimism over the budget’s potential to enhance the state’s economic landscape.
He assured that a significant portion of the budget will be dedicated to capital expenditure, underlining his administration’s commitment to launching extensive capital projects in the upcoming fiscal year.
Governor Okpebholo praised the Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Blessing Agbebaku, alongside other assembly members for their swift approval process.
Agbebaku noted that the budget saw a substantial increase from an initial proposal of N605 billion, particularly to channel more funds into the agricultural sector.
