The Edo State House of Assembly has recently decided to lift the suspension of one of its three suspended lawmakers, Mr. Bright Iyamu.

The suspension of Iyamu (PDP-Orhionmwon South) and two others was initiated on May 6 due to their alleged involvement in a plot to impeach the Speaker and other key officers of the Assembly.

As reported by the News Agency of Nigeria, the two lawmakers who are still under suspension are Donald Okogbe (PDP-Akoko-Edo II) and Adeh Isibor (APC-Esan North-East I).

However, during the plenary session on Monday, Speaker Blessing Agbebaku announced the decision to recall Iyamu, citing his display of remorse as a contributing factor.

Following Iyamu’s readmission, other members of the Assembly appealed to the Speaker to reconsider the suspension of the remaining two lawmakers.

In response, Speaker Agbebaku acknowledged that Isibor had resorted to legal action by taking the matter to court.
