Edo State Welcomes New Leadership: President Tinubu Assures of Promised Progress Under Gov. Okpebholo

In a significant ceremony on Tuesday, President Bola Tinubu expressed confidence in the newly inaugurated governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, emphasizing his commitment to fostering an environment filled with job opportunities and essential services for the state’s residents.

During the swearing-in event held at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, President Tinubu, represented by Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima, lauded the election of Okpebholo and his deputy, Dennis Idahosa, as a testament to the collective aspirations of the Edo people.

Stressing the importance of post-election unity, Tinubu urged all parties to work collaboratively to dismantle barriers hindering development and the implementation of democratic benefits. “Elections bring joy, but they also require diligence to overcome challenges that may obstruct progress,” he stated.

Highlighting the trust the Edo populace has placed in their new leadership, Tinubu affirmed that Okpebholo and Idahosa possess the character and capability to drive necessary change.

Asserting the need for fiscal and monetary reforms, he remarked on his administration’s commitment to establishing a solid foundation for future opportunities. “I am proud that Edo has chosen a leader who understands their dreams and has the vision to realize them,” he added.
