The viral victim of the Enugu gas explosion, Miss Martha Ugochi Chukwu, who narrowly escaped death with her father during the gas explosion in Emene Enugu, Enugu state, has been receiving medication at Orthopaedic Hospital Enugu since late last year.
According to reliable eyewitnesses during the gas explosion, many were burnt to death instantly, while Miss Ugochi Chukwu was burnt beyond recognition yet remained alive.
As Miss Ugochi and her family were abandoned to their helpless fate, upon receiving this shocking news, the Enugu State House of Assembly member representing the esteemed people of Aninri State Constituency and a born philanthropist, Hon. Engr. Magnus Nnaemeka Ede, swung into action and paid an unscheduled visit to Miss Ugochi Chukwu at Orthopaedic Hospital Enugu.
The young and ambitious Miss Ugochi Chukwu hails from Agbada Nenwe in Aninri Local Government Area.
During the visit, the Enugu lawmaker, Hon. Magnus Ede, expressed displeasure over the horrible condition of Miss Ugochi Chukwu but returned all the glory to God Almighty for keeping her alive, unlike numerous others who lost their lives in the same terrible incident.
“This is a horrific situation that no human should have to go through, but I appreciate God for His mercies that have sustained you till today,” Ede stated.
In his usual philanthropic nature, Hon. Engr. Magnus Ede surprised Miss Martha Ugochi Chukwu with his magnanimous gestures for her medical bills and steady upkeep.
In expressing her uncommon delight, Miss Ugochi Chukwu, on behalf of herself and her family, thanked Hon. Magnus Ede for responding to her plight with a surprise package.
Amidst tears of joy, Ugochi Chukwu narrated that she was ignored and abandoned to her painful fate by family members and well-wishers. She thanked God for sending Hon. Engr. Magnus Ede for her rescue and prayed the good Lord to bless and replenish the lawmaker in million folds.”
