The Enugu State Under-15 Team has thrashed the Kano State team 3 goals to zero in the just-concluded Nigeria Under-15 Schools Football Tournament in Abuja. The game, which ended 3-0 a few minutes ago in Abuja, saw the Enugu State Team coasting home to victory. Recall that they defeated the Kwara State team last year and represented Nigeria at the Continental Football Tournament in Togo.

Speaking shortly after the Enugu Team secured the national ticket, the Member Representing Enugu North and South Federal Constituency, Hon. Chimaobi Sam Atu, who was at the Abuja International Stadium to boost the morale of the players, said he was proud to always identify with the team.

Hon. Atu, who is one of the team’s sponsors, expressed optimism that the “boys will go places” and called for state support.

Reacting to the victory of his team, the Coach, Mr. Nweke Ifeanyi, said his team was skillful and disciplined, and that he expected nothing less from them. The Captain of the Enugu Team, David Ede, thanked his teammates, the technical crew, and sponsors for their unwavering support.

The Enugu Team will now represent Nigeria in the Continental Tournament.
