Youths of Enugu State under the aegis of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Enugu State chapter, have congratulated the executive Governor of Enugu State, Dr Peter Mbah .
In a statement signed by the chairman of the group, Comrade Bartholomew Chukwuebuka Okoh and sent to newsmen, he stated that, the entire youths of the state are happy to have a leader like him as the Governor owing to his outstanding track records in the private sector.
He described his victory as a victory for all irrespective of political or cultural affiliation because, his victory during the march 18th Gubernatorial election in state, was unanimous decision of all to hand him over the mantle of leadership.
He however, prayed for God’s guidance upon him as the youths of Enugu State would support his administration.
The statement reads :
” On behalf of the entire youth of Enugu State, I warmly congratulate you on your victory as well as best wish you success as you take up the responsibilities and challenges of your high office.
Your victory is a victory for all Ndi Enugu irrespective of political affiliation as it shows that the hand of the Almighty God is truly on our dear state. May your renowned brilliance not be eclipsed by greed and quest for selfish and personal aggrandizement. Your emergence is a major pointer that politics today is tilting towards meritocracy and not godfatherism.
You contested the election against several qualified fellow sons of Enugu State whom I am confident also have the best interest of Enugu State at heart in offering up themselves for service and I believe they will continue to put the interest of our State first in all their actions.
Your campaign slogan of our tomorrow is here is one which encapsulates the whole yearning of the masses and we expect that you will hit the ground running as you face this daunting task. The task ahead is enormous but the fact that you have goodwill from across the board should make the task a bit easy for you and we hope that you will use this goodwill to make Enugu proud of you.
Let your word be your bond. Let there be a positive difference seen and felt across the state. The best way to thank Enugu for this mandate is by giving it your best shot and delivering on your campaign promises.
We want to respectfully remind you that you are here to represent Ndi Enugu, not your zone or family members. We urge you to dare to be different. A lot of trust and confidence has been bestowed upon you and we expect that you do not disappoint.
I look forward to working with you not only to develop closer relations between our youth but the ingenuity of your personality and the purposefulness of results-driven governance. also to concert our efforts in the cause of peace and the brotherhood of all youth in Enugu State.’
