“Everybody in PDP nominated people to Tinubu for appointment” – Nyesom Wike

Published on

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has claimed that key stakeholders, including governors affiliated with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), recommended individuals for appointments in President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

This statement follows a series of tensions between Wike and PDP governors concerning the party’s leadership in Rivers State. The governors, representing the PDP Governors’ Forum, have expressed their commitment to support Governor Siminalayi Fubara in regaining control of the party’s structure within the oil-rich state.

In response, the forum has called for a reassessment of the recent party congress results to restore Fubara’s authority in Rivers.

Wike, in turn, warned that he would take significant action against any governor who attempts to disrupt the legal and constitutional processes of the PDP, warning that such actions could trigger a political crisis in the state.
