To alleviate the difficulties caused by the removal of fuel subsidy, the federal government has launched the Conversion Incentive Programme of the Compressed Natural Gas Initiative in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The CEO and Program Director of the Presidential CNG project, Michael Oluwagbemi, announced that the aim of the project is to convert one million automobiles at no cost. To fulfill this promise, the program will collaborate with four conversion centers in the state.
Commercial drivers and members of various unions will receive the conversion kits, and the program has already signed up 60 conversion centers across Nigeria.
The Special Adviser to Governor Dapo Abiodun on Energy, Jide Onakoya, believes that this initiative will be transformative for the state and significantly reduce pollution levels.
