The former National Vice Chairman for Northwest of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Salihu Lukman, has emphasized the need for a collective endeavor to establish a sustainable alternative platform aimed at reinstating the party to its authentic stance.

In a statement released over the weekend, Lukman urged for a proactive approach to address the ongoing unstructured right-wing leadership under President Bola Tinubu within the APC.

He pointed out that Tinubu’s leadership style has undoubtedly pushed Nigerians to shift away from traditional political perspectives, prompting a reconsideration of established norms.

Lukman highlighted the daily challenge faced by APC members, leaders, and patriotic citizens devoted to the nation’s democratic progress, encouraging them to reflect on the purpose of political party affiliation beyond merely fielding candidates for elections.

He expressed concerns over the unilateral decision-making by both former President Muhammadu Buhari and Tinubu over the past nine years, indicating a disregard for party protocols and democratic principles.

The APC stalwart stressed that safeguarding and enhancing Nigeria’s democratic system should not hinge on the whims of individual leaders, regardless of their influence. He called for a national reawakening amongst patriotic citizens and advocates for democracy to forge an alternative democratic entity in response to the APC and the myriad political facades.
