National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje, and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, have declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is on the verge of collapse.
Ganduje dismissed claims by former Jigawa governor Sule Lamido that the APC would soon disintegrate, branding such remarks as baseless. He stated that the APC continues to attract significant political figures under President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, positioning the party strongly ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Wike echoed Ganduje’s views, accusing PDP leaders of insincerity and internal divisions. He criticized the party for ignoring zoning arrangements and sidelining voices within, warning that these actions could lead to the party’s implosion.
He praised Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for defecting to the APC, contrasting the criticism he (Wike) faced for supporting President Tinubu with the silence over PDP BoT Chairman Senator Adolphus Wabara’s support for Labour Party’s Alex Otti.
Wike insisted he was working to strengthen the PDP by advocating for adherence to its constitution, despite perceptions that he was undermining the party.
Responding, Senator Wabara affirmed the PDP’s resilience and future, declaring during the inauguration of new BoT members that the party will bounce back in 2027. He emphasized the BoT’s role in guiding the party and expressed confidence in its ability to unify and triumph in upcoming elections.
