Deputy House of Representatives Spokesman Philip Agbese praised Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia for successfully conducting APC local government primary elections.
However, Governor Alia swiftly denied the claim, stating that no primary elections took place in the state. Agbese’s statement highlighted the Governor’s commitment to democracy and security during the alleged primaries.
In contrast, Governor Alia’s response accused Agbese of fabricating falsehood, emphasizing that the APC did not conduct any local government or ward primaries in Benue State.
The Governor’s statement also mentioned that the party has not yet commenced the sale of nomination forms, making it impossible for primaries to have occurred.
The exchange suggests a rift between Agbese and Governor Alia, with the latter urging the public to disregard Agbese’s “false and mischievous statements.”
