Hon. Chima Atu Celebrates Unity and Tradition at Jedidiah Estate’s New Yam Festival

The vibrant New Yam festival took center stage at the Jedidiah Estate in Centenary City, Enugu, on Sunday, August 20th, 2023. The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including the Chairman House of Representatives’ Parliamentary Friendship Group with the Republic of Greece, Hon. Chimaobi Sam Atu, and Hon. Obiajulu Princess Ugwu, who is the Deputy Chief Whip & Member representing Enugu South (Rural) at the State House of Assembly.

Jedidiah Estate, nestled within the expansive Centenary City, located at Obeagu/Amechi Awkunanaw, Enugu South Local Government Area, has become a paragon of modern urban planning. As Centenary City continues to flourish, it bolsters the city’s status and augments both revenue streams and infrastructure for the state.

Highlighting the convergence of tradition and modernity, Jedidiah Garden Estate exemplifies the Enugu State government’s vision. While contemporary infrastructure and bustling business activities, the estate remains steadfast in its commitment to Igbo traditions. The annual New Yam festival is a testament to this dedication.

The Igwe of Jedidiah Garden Estate and his Cabinet took the occasion to bestow the title of Ezienyi 1 Nke Ndi Jedidiah Estate upon City Rep, Hon. Chimaobi Sam Atu, in recognition of his visionary leadership, unwavering dedication, and fervent service to the people. In response, Hon. Atu, who represents Enugu North and South Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, expressed his gratitude and pledged to collaborate with the estate on various fronts, especially in bolstering security through the installation of street lights.

Hon. Princess Obiajulu was also honored during the festival with the title of Ada Di Ora Nma 1 of Jedidiah Estate. Acknowledging her role as the representative for Enugu South Rural in the State House of Assembly, she affirmed her commitment to partnering with Hon. Atu to deliver democratic dividends to the residents of Jedidiah Estate.

Hon. Atu’s people-oriented approach and commitment to accessibility underscore his reputation as a leader dedicated to his constituents.
