Hon Chimaobi Atu Advocates Increased Funding for Enugu Federal Institutions

The member representing Enugu North and South Federal Constituency, Hon Chimaobi Sam Atu, recently embarked on a tour of federal institutions in Enugu State, reinforcing the National Assembly’s commitment to improved funding. As the sole representative from Enugu State on the Appropriation Committee in the House of Representatives, Hon Atu pledged to advocate for enhanced financial support for all federal government institutions within the state. This visit, part of his official oversight functions, aimed not only to assess the current status of these institutions but also to identify areas requiring immediate attention.

Commencing his tour at the Federal Government College Enugu, Hon Chimaobi Atu received a warm welcome from the Principal, Mrs. Grace Takeri, and the dedicated staff. This unprecedented visit by a Member of the House of Representatives from the zone was acknowledged by the Principal as a positive sign of Hon Chimaobi Atu’s commitment to good governance and quality representation. During the visit, the Principal highlighted the institution’s challenges and earnestly appealed for urgent intervention from the Federal government to create a conducive learning environment.

Hon Atu, in response, expressed his readiness to collaborate with the institution, ensuring that essential amenities for quality education are provided. He engaged in discussions with the school, addressing their concerns, and assured them that these issues would be escalated to the Minister of Education for further consideration and intervention.

Demonstrating his enthusiasm for the school’s success stories, Hon Chimaobi Atu encouraged the staff to view their assignment as a special duty in nurturing the next generation of leaders. Emphasizing the vital aspect of accountability, often lacking in various institutions, he also conducted a thorough tour of ongoing projects within the school premises, pledging to attract additional funding for their completion.
