The Member representing Nkanu East state constituency, Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon Okey Mbah, has extolled Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for his unique style of leadership in the state within one year of taking oath of office. Hon Okey Mbah made this known on Wednesday through a congratulatory message to the executive Governor of Enugu State, Barr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, which he sent to newsmen in Enugu.
He stated that Enugu has experienced unimaginable development across all sectors since Governor Peter Mbah took over, thus giving the state an edge in development amongst other states in Nigeria.
He emphasized that the governor’s focus on infrastructure development, education, healthcare, agriculture, entrepreneurship, youth and women empowerment, technological innovation, and economic revitalization has yielded tangible results and improved the lives of citizens.
Hon Okey Mbah highlighted some of the achievements, including the construction and rehabilitation of 81 road projects, the ongoing construction of 260 smart schools, and the upgrade of the College of Medical Science, Igboano, to a teaching hospital.
He also commended the governor’s efforts in restoring security and modernizing transportation infrastructure.
The lawmaker expressed confidence that under Governor Peter Mbah’s visionary leadership, Enugu State will continue to experience sustainable development and prosperity. He urged citizens to support the governor’s efforts and initiatives, ensuring that the state remains a beacon of hope and progress in Nigeria.

Celebrating Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s One Year in Office
Today marks a significant milestone in the annals of Enugu State as we commemorate Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s first year in office. This momentous occasion brings the opportunity to appraise the achievements of His Excellency, Dr. Peter Mbah, in line with his vision for our beloved state.
Over the past year, the governor of Enugu State has demonstrated exemplary leadership, spearheading a multi and diverse initiatives aimed at transforming Enugu State into a beacon of prosperity and opportunities. His administration’s focus on infrastructure development, education, healthcare, agriculture, entrepreneurship, youth end women empowerment, technological innovation and economic revitalization has yielded tangible results, improving the lives of countless citizens across the state.
The massive construction and rehabilitation of 81 road projects (including 71 within Enugu metropolis and 10 major rural roads), connecting various parts of the state. These projects have not only enhanced transportation networks but have also created employment opportunities and stimulated economic growth within local communities and, most importantly, achieved the Enugu ring road project.
The ongoing construction of 260 smart schools across all 260 wards in Enugu State will be providing free accessible and quality smart education to every child, regardless of their background or location, and laying the foundation for a brighter future for generations to come.
The upgrade of College of Medical Science, Igboano, to a teaching hospital, the new college of Nursing science at Parklane and Awgu and new recruitment of qualified doctors and nurses and the massive construction of 260 Type 11 hospital across 260 electoral words of Enugu State are bold steps towards revamping the health sector and addressing the brain drain syndrome bedeviling the medical profession in Enugu State and Nigeria at large.
This administration, within 180 days as promised during the campaign, delivered clean and portable water
through the inauguration of a 120 million litres water supply scheme in the state capital, which is essential to the well-being, quality of life, and health of citizens of the state. This achievement is aimed at addressing the protracted water scarcity in the state.
The governor has within one year restored security in Enugu state and embarked on massive state of the art transportation infrastructure that will usher in modern central bus terminals and transportation interchange in strategic locations in the state, procurement of city buses, and plans on the monorail and railways projects, etc. The revolution in agriculture, technology, and innovation will ensure food security and empower the youths. The governor’s economic revitalization efforts have ensured the award of contracts to revamp key industries such as Hotel Presidential and the Nigergas Company. UPPL, and the completion of the international conference centre and the new 380-room international conference Five Star Hotel project, thereby driving economic growth and creating job opportunities and fostering a conducive business environment for investors.
The governor has also taken the welfare of our workers as paramount by taking concrete steps to improve their livelihoods. The verification of workers and pensioners, coupled with the commencement of payment for outstanding salaries, pensions, and arrears, reflects his commitment to the well-being of our workforce.
In an unprecedented manner, the executive arm led by His Excellency, Dr Peter Mbah, has presented 16 executive bills to the Enugu State House of Assembly and the House have successfully passed 12 of the bills into law and some are awaiting Governor’s assent, and some have been assented to. These bills addressed the issue of power and energy delivery and infrastructure. New Enugu City Management Authority, land administration challenges through the Geographic information system services,(GISS) Bill, Bill to address forceful entery into landed properties, Teaching hospital, Igboano, College of Nursing, Parklane, Enugu and Awgu. Ranching, amendment of ENSIEC and Enugu neighbourhood watch, Sports development Fund, and Youth development fund Bill, among others.
In my Constituency, new road construction has since commenced linking up obolo-afor, in Udenu of Enugu North senatorial zone through Isiuzor, Amankanu,Ubahu, Owo, Àmechi Idodo, Amagunze, Ihuokpara with a spur at Ugbawka and Nara and connecting Nkerefi,Mburubu and Nomeh and link up to Udume and Nenwe in Aninri, of Enugu West senatorial zone. The completion of these roads will fulfil the long dream ring project in Enugu State.
As we celebrate Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s one year in office, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and that of Nkanu East Constituency to the exceptional leader and performing governor of Enugu State and i salute his tireless dedication and commitment to the progress and prosperity of Enugu State. Under his visionary guidance, we are confident that the future holds even greater promise and sustainable development for our state and its citizens.
